Carrick Finishes on Placerville Speedway Podium Saturday Night

Saturday night at Placerville Speedway, Tanner Carrick would put together a very strong run that culminated with him finishing third in the feature event behind Justin Sanders and Andy Forsberg.

“It was a really good night for our team in a new Spike Chassis,” Tanner Carrick said. “To finish third behind those two at Placerville Speedway isn’t anything to hang your head about and it feels good to continue to run well in the sprint car.”

Timing the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed No. 83T entry in second quickest in qualifying time trials, the Lincoln, CA standout would finish fourth in his heat race and solidify his spot in the Top-Eight redraw.

Pulling the four, Carrick would take the green flag from second row where he would be able to avoid contact on an opening lap altercation that collected a good portion of the field.

With the wreckage cleared and the field restacked, Carrick would settle into the third position as he battled with Andy Forsberg in the race’s early laps. Falling back to fourth on the sixth circuit, Carrick would continue to keep pace with the leaders as they quickly found themselves in dense traffic.

As the battle continued, Carrick would continue to stalk Forsberg until he then turned his attention to Jimmy Trulli who now ran third and in front of him. On the 14th lap, Carrick would drive by the seasoned veteran as he was back on the podium and eyeing Sanders and Forsberg who ran ahead of him.

Getting held up in traffic, Carrick would do a nice job of keeping Sean Becker and Zane Blanchard at bay behind him as he took the checkered flag with a third place finish.

“Our new Spike Chassis was awesome and I have to thank Clark for all of his efforts getting it dialed in,” Carrick added. “We have some great backers on this team, and I have to thank all of them and my family as well.”

Tanner Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, Timberworks Construction, Arai, and Spike Chassis for their support.
