Tanner Carrick Seventh with POWRi Series at I-55 Raceway

Tanner Carrick and the Keith Kunz Motorsports team spent their weekend competing with the Lucas Oil POWRi Series as they took to the Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, IL and the I-55 Raceway in Pevely, MO.

“We had some really good speed both nights, and we were in a good spot on Friday night until a late restart didn’t go our way,” Tanner Carrick said.

Checking in at Belle-Clair Speedway to open up a two-race weekend, Carrick would kick things off by picking up a win during his heat race and moving himself directly into the feature event.

Taking the green flag from the 10th starting position for the feature, Carrick would put on a show as he dazzled on lookers and marched his way toward the front of the field.

Racing into third, Carrick would close in on second only to see the caution fly and negate his progress. The ensuing restart would see Carrick be on the wrong end of an aggressive move that saw him get pushed to the top of the track and resulted in him stalling his car.

Forced to the tail, Carrick would end up finishing 14th.

Heading to Pevely, MO to take on the high-banked I-55 Speedway on Saturday night, Carrick would continue to flex his muscle as he put on a show during his heat race to kick things off. Lining up seventh in the race, Carrick would have his elbows up as he sliced and diced his way to a third place finish.

Picking up valuable points in the heat, Carrick would move to the feature event where he would roll off the starting grid from the sixth spot.

On an extremely slick racing surface Lincoln, CA pilot was able to maintain as he ran inside the Top-10 during the feature event as he battled with the likes of Jerry Coons, Jr, Ryan Robison, and Zeb Wise.

In a hard fought feature, Carrick would close his weekend out with a seventh place finish.

“It was a lot of fun to run on two pretty fun surfaces over the weekend,” Carrick added. “I have to continue to thank everyone associated with Keith Kunz Motorsports for all of their hard work and continued support.”

Tanner Carrick and the Keith Kunz Motorsports team would like to thank CVC, TRD, Spike Chassis, Cemex, Arai, and Shell Shock for their support.
